Florida Supervision Requirements
1. Two (2) years of post-master’s supervised experience under the supervision of a Board approved Qualified Supervisor is required for full licensure.
a. The supervised experience must consist of:
At least 100 hours of supervision in no less than 100 weeks
1,500 hours of face-to-face psychotherapy with clients
One (1) hour of supervision every two (2) weeks
Florida Laws & Rules: 8 hours
HIV/AIDS: 3 hours
Domestic Violence: 2 hours (often taken with the Laws & Rules course)
Pass the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE)

b. NOTE: Please see Rule 64B4-2.002, F.A.C., for information regarding group supervision and supervision by electronic methods.
c. An intern registration is valid for 5 years.
2. A registered mental health counselor intern shall include the words “registered mental health counselor intern” or RMHCI on all promotional materials, including cards, brochures, stationery, advertisements, and signs, naming the registered intern.
3. Once licensed, licenses expire biannually at midnight on March 31st of odd-numbered years (2025,2027, 2029).
a. Any CE completed April 1st of one odd year through March 31st of the next odd year count towards the March 31st renewal.
4. Enroll in CE Broker to log your CEUs, they are reported directly to the board once you upload them there. Some training platforms send your completed CEUs directly to CE Broker, but not all will do so. All CE Broker plans will show you a transcript of all courses you’ve completed in the past.
